Research Assistant (WHB) (m/f/d) - 8 h / week

For the laboratories of the Chair of Atomic-scale Characterization of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering we are looking for a research assistant (WHB) (m/f/d) with a working time of 8 h/week, limited for 12 months. As a research assistant (WHB) you will support the research team in the supervision of an inorganic chemistry laboratory, which is primarily used for the synthesis and investigation of catalyst nanoparticles.

Your tasks:

• Assisting with general activities in an inorganic chemistry laboratory (handling and organizing chemicals, assisting with experiments, organizing maintenance and repairs of equipment and safety devices)
• Support with occupational safety documentation (operating instructions, risk assessments, etc.) in German and English and checking/inventory of hazardous substances (DAMARIS)
• Proper disposal of chemical Collaboration with international scientists in German and English
• Inspection of stocks
• Collaboration with international scientists in German and English inspection of stocks

Your profile:

• You have completed a Bachelor's degree (ideally in the field of chemistry) and are currently enrolled in a Master's program at the Ruhr University Bochum
• Extensive knowledge in the field of inorganic chemistry
• Practical experience in the safe handling of chemicals
• Willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team and to support the research processes
• Very good written and spoken German and English (at least B2 level)
• High level of communication skills, strong teamwork skills and an independent way of working
